Assuming this is not sarcasm, don't ask me, I'm hopeless at jagging the southerlies.
I can post what I measure on the beach, but that means little there, cos it might drop out 5 mins later.
Tuesday this week, I went down, measured steady 15kts at the waters edge, rigged up and went out, thinking this is gonna be great.
Plugged out through the shorebreak OK, which is always a bit dicey, cos if you cock it up, the rock is waiting, and the sweep is typically a bit lethal. I know this, cos I did cock it up once and smashed a rig up out there and getting sucked under the rock can be embarrassing too.
Anyway, got out back, and started planing, though, this is great, gybed, planed in, and that was it for the day. Spent another few runs plugging in and out, enjoying the wonderful water and swell, but felt lucky to jag a wave and scrape into the creek mouth.
It was a run-in tide, which I knew, otherwise I would have done the walk of shame from about Burleigh, I think.
If you watch the wind charts, you'll see it often blows briefly there on a SE. Very friggin' briefly !! It's basically squalls.
Northerlies, OTOH, settle in and crank nicely.
