lake weyba beginners

Hi folks, I am new to this forum...and new to windsurfing (25 years ago I could hobble out on a calm day etc). I've borrowed a friends rig and am wanting to get going. I live on Sunshine Coast hinterland and am looking for the best place for beginners (not Lake Baroon). Can anyone comment on the suitability of Lake Weyba? Cheers. :-)

Top spot for getting back into windsurfing. Shallow, no real tidal currents. NE n SE winds ok

Agree the lake is excellent. One of the best.

You may also want to go to caloundra next Saturday to the windsutfer LT catch up. Just let them know you are starting out again and you can join in.

Windsurfer LT? Is this a club? (...when I google it, it seems to be a brand of windsurfer).

it's a one design board which a group of us sail. it is made by several manufacturers. they all make the same board but put their own logo on it. other than that they are all exactly the same. the idea was to create a more cost effective setup.

they are used world wide but in Australia each state has it's own group. In QLD we try and meet every month to go for a sail. do some fun racing, freestyle or just cruise around. teach family etc. very laid back stuff.

we sailed at weyba 2 months back.
