I have never sailed the mouth before.
Are there any do's and don'ts apart from don't drown?
Thanks
no problems there really other than just be careful on an outgoing tide. if it's a big outgoing tide and a decent swell running then I'd not do it unless you know the place real well.
all other times no worries. it's actually a cruise spot to sail. most think you need wave gear but slalom gear is fine as well because the area inside the wave zone is fairly flat.
we were there a few weeks back in a big southerly and as it got towards high tide it started to make you aware you were sailing there but other than that it's fine. in a pumping SE or S wind it's a different spot then in a westerly type wind.
in a westerly there is a wind shadow in close to bribie on the other side of the channel that will leave you with no wind.
