So long Train, now all fenced off. Thank you GCCC now either tack up from KFC but not on low tide, Oatland and Shearwater no good for speed or drive the hour to Wello.
Not happy Jan.

You've still got The Grand speed bank. Short but sweet.

Well I've never really liked the train due to short run but still, it's a shame to loose the site.
Plus I passed the Shearwater yesterday and there were about 5 large sailboats moored straight in front where we normally sail, about 20m from the sandbank. They look like they plan to stay there for some time. North of Wavebreak Island is the same, permanently moored boats everywhere. Looks like yachtties can't afford marina fees.
I might start to get used to idea of travelling to Brisbane or to take a boat and drive to Tipplers or Jumpinpin inlet.

Gutted was a good last minute effort by Phil and Tony to try and save it. I gradually learnt to enjoy that spot in a NE'r ^^ yip the grand has a very specific wind S/SSE prerequisite, guess it might be Oatland Esp from now on (unless they go ahead with the terminal too )

Are they removing the bank? If not no reason why it's still not sailable on a weekday. Boat ramps make good launch spots.
