has anyone tried this bank in a westerly. seems to have a pretty good fetch.

Looked at it a few years ago, better off a little further north at Banksia Beach. As long as there is no north in it... watch the pumistone ledge as you launch. Also a wreck on southern end of bank to look out for. Maybe the locals will chime in.

Kiters tend to gather further South at Apex park. I've been in that area you asked about with a kite, it's ok, but typically gusty. Got to avoid the more boats. Large gums located along the foreshore don't help smooth the wind.

yeah the sand bank at sylvan beach.
sailed there a couple of times in a NW wind years back but there wasn't a bank like there is now..

might think about it next westerly.

Yeah , just launch 300 m or so more northerly. No horrible ledge . Third car park above banksia beach sand boat ramp . Nice grass , easy entry. You just start at the top of the strip. Just keep it a secret.
