anyone been to Bali and can give me some tips on hire gear and accommodation??

I sailed on a holiday to Bali in July over ten years ago, so my info will not be current. For what its worth, we stayed at the Hyatt in Sanur, I hired a Mistral Olympic Class OD Raceboard from a vendor on the beach near the hotel. I sailed in the lagoon in front of the hotel and via the channel out beyond the reef. The wind was around 10 kts cross on shore from the SE.

Try the following URL of a hire place at the southern end of Sanur beach. Sanur is a great place to stay, not as ritzy as Nusa Dua and not as manic as Kuta or Legian and has great access to the lagoon.
