Hi Wanderers,

Our next meet is still being planned to go ahead at the next sign of wind so please keep an eye on the forums.

at this stage there is an outside chance this sunday may bring some wind, failing that the first weekend in september has some very good signs starting to creep into the forecast models.

I also wanted to let everyone know that the club has "finally" taken delivery of our new "2nd hand" starboard start. It is currently in the gear library and ready for use. i'll grab a photo over the next few days but it is being matched with the starboard kids rig we also have.

the board has arrived however without a tuttle fin. if anyone has one we can shorten for use with beginner please let me know. i'm prepared to pay for it if necessary.

happy winds

Hi Derek,

next meet is redcliffe, depending on wind direction we will try and hit up either pelican park or the old faithfull sutton's,

we have another meet planned for woorim at bribie once the NE winds kick back in. it's a new spot and the aim is to grab some waves on the banks

there will also be a meet at queens north more toward xmas when the NE's are blowing.

cheers

cheers Trauma,

I know it's been a long time coming but i finally closed the deal. Also a few members have chimed in with fins to help us out so the board is now fully functional. thanks to the guys that offered the help.

green light status for the meet at redcliffe. we were aiming for pelican park but, however a SSE forecast is more suited to sutton's beach.

i'll be aiming to kick thing off around 11am to maximise opportunity with the wind.

Peli park would be fun again.

Will the bridge to brisbane run on sunday affect getting over the gateway?

@swoosh - suttons is more waves then queens. queens is more swell than suttons. sort of. depends how big the swell is.

@ haircut. - hmm. i didn't see that one coming. i did a few checks and it appears it's the southbound lanes in the morning only. kingsford smith and some of the gateway off ramps are closed. it should be ok but may be a little slow around the gateway bridge itself.

i hope.

pelican park needs a SW wind.

what wind direction was it last time when we could sail from peli to brighton? there were great ramps in the middle with only 15 knots

food is ready, gear is ready and the meet is go for tomorrow.

for those that may be new to suttons beach. i did up a couple of maps. for those returning to this great spot we will move the meet location further north to get us around the rocks we seem to always end up launching into.

location will be between the toilet block and the surf club carpark to the north.

close up of location. rocks are marked at the bottom of the image.

top day all round, thanks for the bbq Gesty, i was messing around with a cam corder to see how windsurfing would look, unfortunately i haven't had any experience at using it and you guys were going to fast to get any decent footage, things were a bit blurred/shakey, although that could have been my fear of the mast high shore break, so its not worth trying to show what a cracker of a day was had.
