A quick shout out for the Windwanderers whom I believe are organising a social meet at Burrum Heads in Early September and is the opening event for the club. I've nothing to do with the organisation of the meets but wanted to give it a shout out.

For those that aren't completely familiar with Burrum.

Burrum is not just about flat out low tide speed sailing. it is a KILLER spot to sail at high tide. Probably my favourite sailing up there is at high tide because of the conditions.

the sailing is in crystal clear green/blue water. we are out of the wet season. Suits bump and jump or Slalom. of course speed to at low tide.

the winds are from the north and northeast for the next few months as the spring weather patterns and seabreezes kick in. if you want to check out Burrum for the first time or even try it out in spring then don't miss out.

Great weekend had at Burrum! Thanks to Kellie, Dylan and Peter D. for making the trip up from the sunny coast. Special thanks to Dylan for doing the BBQ, presenting the GPS seminar and putting up with all the interruptions.

Thanks Andy was a fun weekend, will post some photos and put some details on club website tonight, only have iPad with Internet access at the moment. Frustrating when kids use up all the Internet allowance before the end of the month!

Above Ray's wind direction marker. At high tide I could only see the very top of this poking out of the water. From a distance going into the sun I thought it was a Pelican or bird. Now I know what lies beneath the flag I wont try sailing over near it on a half tide!
