Come and join the fun of the Windsurfing One Design Nationals (Wally Nationals). Kerry and the crew have been working hard to develop this family friendly yet competitive division and it is promising to be a great event to be involved in.

Here is the flyer with all the details.

Great Poster by joshbonga.
Cheers WQ, FreeRaceQld. and Windwanderers.
Trek to Gold Coast has started. Boards, rigs, gear left Canberra last night. Some left Sydney yesterday. An awesome board which was made in South Africa is on its way north.
A few windsurfers travelling from W.A. 22 competitors at present. Good times.
Not too late to join Qld windsurfer one design sailors at Paradise Point. If you're from Qld and you can't get to FreeRace, then call in at PPSC or even book a loan board and join the fleet.

Really enjoyed the event and a slew of qlder's on the podium.

Frank took out the freestyle title, Jinxy got the style award, josh 3rd in lightweights, Tim also grabbed a medal... Congrats to everyone. The front of the fleet is full of ex Olympians and world title holders. So fun to watch.

Made a lot of new friends.

Also keen to track down the guy I met from the goldy. We were talking hitting currumbin and greenmount on longboards so keen to track him down. He has a phantom. Think you may know him Brendan if you read this. ?

All up excellent event. Looking forward to the big one in Sydney now.

Thanks to the WCAA, WQLD, YQLD, PPSC, sponsors, local staff & assistants for a great WOD Nationals event. Over the four days of competition sailors experienced a complete set of wind & tide conditions at this very 'technical & tactical' sailing venue.
Hmmm..... I feel some may have benefited from a bit of local knowledge, but that's how it always goes. Those that didn't run aground at sometime , please raise their right hand now.

The standard of racing from both local & interstate sailors, as well as those from overseas was truly impressive. Special mention
should go to the first three placeholders in the Freestyle for world class routines. Manoeuvres & styles to 'boggle' the mind !

I look forward to seeing further pictures & videos, either here on Seabreeze, or on our own WCAA website at a later date.

Hope to see you all & more for what shapes up as a mammoth anniversary event in Sydney NSW early next year. Keep an eye
on the WCAA website for all news regarding future events.

Cheers,

Well said US-6.
Also the camaraderie amongst the (fleet) competitors was very comforting. I think the severely fierce currents, & fickle winds, combined with the vague location of the extensive shoal banks, became the common enemy!

AND I apologise to the whole fleet for stupidly believing that it would be possible to start the MARATHON on starboard near the port end!
Under the circumstances, the port end bias of the line, and the opposing current - it was never ever ever going to be possible.
Don't know how many I stuffed up - but myself being trampled by the port end chargers, and then being recalled to start way last - I definitely got the worst of it.

Hope to see you all, and many more, at the next nationals.
