All, Hi,

The new Windsurfer One Design date is Sunday 1st of June at Lake Cootharaba. Meet at 11am at the Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club.

The long term weather conditions are looking perfect.

Please invite your friends to come along and join the fun with some great people on the water.

Hope to see you out there and remember Peter Nitschke has plenty of WO boards you can use. Long boards are also more than welcome.

If you have questions please do not hesitate to ask

If you don't fall off you're not trying hard enough...

Water is warm(ish) so I plan on falling off a lot on Sunday

Might make it up there - at least for moral support and catch up. Might even have a sail - really like it there

Cheers

Good on you guys...

If you are using your long-board and you have a 6m2 sail, or close to, would or could you consider bringing it please. If not you're more than welcome to bring what you have

Thanks and see you at the lake!

Looking at the forecast is there a minimum wind that would cancell the event?

For those heading up to the lake who need some 80s style instruction, I spotted this in Berkelouw Eumundi. Pop in on the way through

I had a great day on the water. Very gentle breezes.
Had plenty of practice tacking on the upwind run to the bouy.

The Wally lads had time to go to the pub while I was still finishing the course. ;-(

Friendly team spent time giving me coaching - thanks heaps

Exchanged the raceboard for a Wally on the aternoons runs

First real go at a Wally

I learnt some new skills - how to uphaul without pulling the mask out of the board

How to balance myself on a round bottom board - epic fail on the downwind runs.

Found the board easier to tack that the phantom - felt the phantom was a lot more stable.

A 6m sail is certainly less taxing than a 8.5m racing sail.

Thanks heaps for organizing the day

Cheers Jeff

cheers for the fun today guys.

i didn't realise when peter said he had an original windsurfer for me it would actually be teak!!!! lol.

was good to sail a course without a harness, in my shorts, and no straps and not loose my towelling bucket hat along the way.

will definitely go to more races. even though i got flogged i enjoyed it a lot. just bare with me and the 5+ hour round trip.......

I think the hat created too much drag - ditch it for next time to be more competitive. It's a finely calibrated class so every little bit counts.

I'm also confident that Peter 1, Peter 2 and I had the edge from our carb loading during lunch at the pub.
