Head to wynnum Anthony, Southern side of the creek mouth, good parking, good rig up area, and good shallow water in close. See ya there!

No worries Mate. It's always good to try different gear to see what feels right before you lash out and buy. Ritchiefish was kind enough to let me use his slalom board on Sunday and using that was a different experience again.
