whats the chances? i have been looking at webcams and the charts, but not sure on if the 30min drive will be worth it today.

Sailed out of Paradise Point today- on a very old raceboard- actually down sized to a 6.5- just sensational- shudda been there.

Sailed on 7.8m2 cam-ed sail on Shearwater and was excellent but I am not used to heavy sails.
If better is for practical reasons have really big light sail camless or with cams more compact but heavy?
Ok which one will be easier to waterstart in marginal conditions 10-15 kn?
Today was above 15kn and my 7.8 was just fine but to extend my sailing below 15 I need possibly go for bigger...

OUCH! We have all been there. Good thing for everybody else is that once you walk into a shopping centre it starts blowing its head off.

Yeah, wasnt happy.

only having one sail, one board, really limits the wind range that i can get out sailing.

need to invest in some new gear to combat this issue.

except that ikea magically consumed any spare money plus your credits leaving nothing for windsurf gear - double peril

macro - I recently replaced my uncambered lightweight 7.4m with a full on cambered 7.8 - much heavier & clunky when gybing and a pig when wet - but I find in the light wind & just below planing speed - the raf sail shape wanst good enough to produce power. Once it was full & you got planing the shape fills out & it is great, lighter feeling easier to handle - the big thing about the RS with its big luff pocket is that when you are sludging, you are still pulling maximum power out of the wind & so have a bit more speed & momentum, it takes less of a puff to pop you up onto the plane - & when you do get going you stay on the plane for the rest of the run - given that a big sail is only used in light conditions i would go for a big camber sail - that being said I looked at bigger sails - but you then need more masts they get beyond normal boom range & I figure if it is less than 15knt it is time to go do some work
