Kanaha.

Why Sat? BoM has identical forecasts atm. Do you reckon we'll get 20kts?

marine services model has got slightly better wind on saturday at this stage.

looking through the other models like gfs (windguru) and ecmwf (seabreeze), gfs has saturday and ecm has sunday.

the area of wind seems to be a little bigger on saturday also and the marine models are saying bayside.

of course, everything can change and probably will.

i thought about kanaha also but it's a high tide in brisvegas so prob do kanaha again next brisbane low tide.

edit* kanaha has stuck in my mind....lol, how about little kanaha? or just kanaha?

Well its a Northerly but not a lot (20 = 15) so probably Wello. On the other hand Queens will get a bit more than Wello so maybe 20 = 18.
hmmmm... dredging in bumps at Queens v. cruising on a big board at Wello or flying in bumps at Queens v. attempting to commit freestyle at Wello.

Too hard. I will decide later

concrete stairs - what concrete stairs

i know this thread is about where to go sat i'm all for queens but has the forecast dropped a few kts maybe the strand townville would be ok, here is some concrete stairs and big fing rocks

this was our launch site at high tide(about 3-4m above the water) for the strand 10 years or more ago, getting out wasn't that hard comming in was a whole different storey, but way back then glass boards were still commonly used and a ding or 2 didn't matter much.

when i left in 2000 they had rebuilt the area with new walls and nice little beaches

cheers

There's often a couple of extra knots in a northerly at Manly.

NotWal,

Not often - but almost always extra wind at Wynnum Nth and Manly compared to Wello on a N'erly.

If it is Easterly then Wello seems to have that couple of extra knots.

wello was good, had a ball until my fin fell out .

12-18 knots on a 5.8m sail is a new experience for me.

panda, i'm keen for some waves. huey will keep us going for another week at least.

dave, where did you go mate? stephan and i had a mini freestyle session. well stephan was more frestyle than me but i did try some vulcans.

hey scully congrats mate,

to be sailing for only 6 weeks and then be able to waterstart, gybe and plane on your 85lt board is awesome!

Queen's Kanaha indeed did turn it on today. What a wonderful place it can be (especially when you've got 20kts!).

looks like 15 to me.

did the kiters try and kill any small children today at queens?

i ran over some lines at wello. thought about avoiding them and decided not to bother.
