Hey guys,
I would like your advice on my next purchase for my gear...

I'm sailing on a Mistral One Design Raceboard, and I have a 6.5 Ezzy Supalite and a 7.8 Aerotech RAF. What are your opinions/thoughts on the next purchase (on a budget lol)?

Should I look at a smaller sail to get out in bigger winds (like Saturday) or should I get a bigger sail to get out in lighter winds and utilize the raceboard in lighter conditions?

Thanks!

do you prefer sailing when its really windy or do you prefer sailing in calm seas with light breezes.
I think this is a question only you can answer.

Get both. Life is short and you know you want to sail more.

Agree with boardboy but would also add. 7.8 is more than enough for a longboard. For a long time class rules were max 7.5m

Probably lean towards the smaller sail.

What do you feel is missing from your sailing?

Given typical qld winds I'd go the bigger sail light wind option.

What mast and boom size do you have? Are you looking for a sail to fit your gear?

What weight are you?

Maybe a short board instead to introduce a new frustration in your learning curve ;-)

Then you maybe able to use the sails you already have - may be a more economical decision?

Make your mind up after the wind wanders clinic - there will be plenty of gear to trial. This will make it easier to see what you need.

Cheers Jeff

Get a Raceboard and a 9.5 and be done with it. In 20 years time you'll look back and see it was the right decision while your still sailing and racing.
