Neopren in April, Mai and June?

Do I need a Neoprene to Wind- or Kite-surf on the Qeensland coast between April and June?
If yes how thick you recommend, dose a shorty do the job or do you have any recommendations?

Thanks

I got a cheap 3/2 longsleeve, for all my sailing in the winter months in brisbane. I reckon i'll probably get a 3/2 shorty once this one wears out!

Even a short sleeve 3/2 will get you through the worst winter.

the most I have is a E-bomb springy, and even then I only wore it half a dozen times last year. Mostly boardies and a 1mm l/s top.

So I don't need to bring my Long legs, short sleeve Neoprene from Switzerland…

In the area from Mackay to Brisbane, I'm OK with boardies and a 1mm l/s top?
And I guess up north in the Port Douglas and Townswille area, a lycra also dose it, in this time of year (April, Mai and June)?

If you are a kite surfer, you will probably need a full steamer. Windsurfers a much tougher and boardies and a t shirt I'll do! : )

where are you visiting specifically? you won't need one in northern qld, your thinnest wetsuit would suit for around brisbane/sunshine coast.

also, that time of year especially may can be very light wind wise unless you head north.

Coming from Switzerland you'll probably be better off buying a portable Air conditioner to keep you cool .

PS - I'm on the Tropic of Capricorn (Yeppoon) and have an O'Neill Superlite John which I might only wear 4 or 5 times during our Winter months oops I mean month.

I will visit the area around Cairns.
It depends to the wind, my mood and how I like it, how long I will stay.
If I don't like it, I will travel down south to area around Brisbane

at that time of year if you are here purely to chase the wind then you might be better off staying in cairns.

may/june in brisbane is typically not that windy in brisbane. green island out from cairns is very good typically at that time of year.

it's only a suggestion but you may be better off starting south and heading north.

don't forget to look into whether you need a stinger suit or not for april/may
