We held the WQ AGM last night and there was some very welcome news from Bryn Sommers regarding a new insurance policy that will soon be available to all Windsurfers, whether social or competitive.

Bryn has been working with the other AWA reps to investigate options for a 24/7 insurance policy that will cover both competitive and social sailors alike. They have been working with Ian Fox who has managed to secure the policy which is comparable in price to the existing policy but includes general sailing situations on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis and is not restricted to competitive events only (as the current policy is).

This is great news for the general windsurfing population as we will all now be able to get a third party policy for a very minimal cost of a club membership. Ian is still working through the finer details but as soon as we have a copy of the policy we will post a link to it so you can make sure you understand what bit does and doesn't cover.

Thank you very much to the outgoing committee for their commitment and achievements last year. The new representatives are as follows

President, AWA Rep, Secretary - Scot Farley
Vice President - Bryn Sommers
Treasurer - Tony Matta
Publicity and Marketing Officers - Bryn Sommers and Michael Jones
Club Representatives
Bayside - Mark Addley
WindWanderers - Peter De Laet
QWA - Luke Baillie
Brisbane SC - Padi

There is a great feeling of positivity within the clubs this year and a lot of new energy so there is no better time to get behind the clubs and show your support by becoming a member.

Let there be wind.

Brilliant, a major selling point for memberships that was lost for the last few years

Thanks for the welcome Scott.

Was that beer tickets and a leave pass for windy days in the WQ social pack?
