Tide no good for Shearwater
V Point or the Train ?

I had a quick session at The Grand this afternoon, and it was bloody fantastic. Consider.

If you are up for the drive - there is a place called beachmere which is on the bay probably about halfway between bribie and sandgate. take the bribie exit of the highway and follow signs from there to the town and drive all the way in till you get to the water.

It is sandy bottomed, and when its blowing good SE it is probably one of the best starboard tack jumping conditions in SE qld - the bottom is fairly shallow for about 500m, so you get swells standing up and breaking all the way in and a cross on wind (if SE) You can seriously ride backside on a swell for a few hundred meters and it is good for freestyle between the waves as its really flat. The ramps just get bigger as you go out and they get some decent size when its windy.

The only problem with the place is that on low tide you have to walk out on the sandflat for a few hundred meters.

A good crew of people go here when its really macking out anywhere else on SE, but usually there is no-one there. the innner beacon reading is usually pretty good as a marker for what the wind is like there.

We have had some absolutely sick sessions at beachies (aka freakmere) in the past - and i think there is some people set to hit it tomorow possibly so maybe give it a go.

went to shearwater today, what a bummer never really happened, got a few powered up runs but then nothing.

Might head back there tommorrow regardless of tide, if its windy enough I really dont notice the tide, its only when it dies.

I finish at about 2.30 so 3ish for me is the best i can do. Fingers crossed.

went crazy about 4.00pm for an hour at Grand me and the Croatian. Probably the train if SE or the Grand if S, i dont think it will be SW but if it is either over near Seaworld or Shearwater.

Beachmere sounds good but too far today
