Hi Guys.
Could you bayside regulars venture an opinion on the question, Is there a point at which you would not go to the rock wall Manly on low tide? I ask this question because the wind looks good for tomorrow afternoon but the tide will be too low at Victoria Point by the time I knock off work. I have never sailed Manly but have watched on occasion when visiting family.

Pat,

It is a short walk from the steps to get to fin-deep water. Other option is to walk down the rocks (if you are game) and launch inside the harbour as there is a patch of sand at the bottom of the break-wall at low tide, but you need shoes and be steady footed.

watch out for the sand bank to the left when your looking out to sea it goes out quite a long way hiding just under the water if the tide is low

Thanks for the heads up guys. It is easy access down a few stairs just as you said, then the bay is open to you. Great place in a falling tide. Even got some tuning tips from Simon and met Tony from Sandstone Sailors.

And surprisingly it has some of the best rigging grass on the bay. My first sail from Manly in a long time, all in all a good afternoon's sail
