as at 1:30pm. Still light 5-10 knots with occasional gusts up to 16 knots.. I'll check out manly and then off to wello maybe ?.(I have to go somewhere, I've just rewatched "The Windsurfing Movie")....

...it was crap......didnt bother even considering getting the gear out of the van...

I Had a good blast on the Formula with 10m Avanti.. 72km sailing distance in 2 1/4 hrs.. Oh, I checked out Manly and Cleaveland.. was great round the back of Peel but ran out of water pretty quick so had to watch the channels and put in some gybes.. Powered up the whole time....

Got to Manly a bit early and spent too much time slogging around before the wind got better. Had some good runs though. Bit of a mixed day.

Max speed was 42km/hr with a average of 26km/hr.. The Downwind runs were Great. Starting to get used to the fact that the board doesn't run into the backs of waves much at all.. My heart rate peaked at 172bpm but averaged 129bp. Heart Rate was always higher when going downwind... Fear??? Just working harder steering through the waves...
Just a sign of things to come with my planned Downwind Challenge early next year... non stop for over 24hr to try and break the 24hr distance record.. On a Slalom board, not a Formula Bd. The Formula Bd is great training as it's much harder work to "Drive"...

Champion effort, good luck with the downwind challenge. 24hrs seems inconceivable to me, where is that taking place?

Had a great run with Clive and Ed back and forth to Green, magic this time of year. Had the 8.0m north ram and the fanatic 122. Perfect combo.

nice effort Dave.
I saw you coming back in through the channel at Wello.

I was out on a 7.8 Ref III and 75 wide board.
Wind was a bit up and down so wasnt game to venture to far. Was a nice sail though.

I saw you come past me just after I got in the channel... gave me a bit of a fright when I entered the channel cause I new you were close and was worried I was going to cut you off while I rounded up to the channel line.. was a little "stuck" on the port down wind angle after coming all the way from the other side of Peel on the same tack.. Was a good plast though... Cheers
