Lost rig at Point Halloran in the channel on the northern end of Coochie - ditched in this afternoon's storm when big winds turned offshore. Got ashore safely (just before dark!) after an anxious paddle and help from a local houseboat resident, and also help on shore from local sailor Frank, his neighbor Lex and the QPS. Thanks guys for helping to make sure everyone was safe!!!

Will search foreshore at low tide tomorrow arvo, but if you do come across a mast, boom and orange/white 5.7 Norths rig, please PM me. Would be nice to get the gear back, but it can be replaced. I'm more worried about safety of other watercraft from submerged kit!

Thanks Guys (especially Frank, Lex and the local QPS).

Yeah wow, that sounds pretty scary. Glad your ok. I don't like the thought of being on the water in an electrical storm, hanging onto a 5mtr bit of carbon on the water makes me feel a bit vunerable to a lightning strike.
I was out a couple of weeks ago and a big clap of thunder came out of nowhere, I couldn't get back to shore soon enough.

Scary stuff Jack! Glad to know you made it in safely. I hope your gear turned up. Had the JP Freeride powered up on the lake yesterday with the Elanda crew - it was fabulous. Jeff had it a try also and had it planing :) Missed you up here.

Glad you are safe Jack. Not a good place to muck around in that area.
Good luck with your rig.
Cheers

Thanks Greg...conditions can change so suddenly in the bay! The rig is part of the ecosystem now I think

Thanks Denton, and I missed the lake too this year! Look forward to maybe getting up there at Easter.
