Hi Guys,

I know there are a few longboard sailors floating around in qld so I wanted to give everyone the heads up that at the 2014 Burrum Windfest we will be adding course racing to the event program.

This decision was brought on by competitors already attending the event that also enjoy course racing and has the full support of the organising committee.

Windfest will still continue the current format, classes and support for the gps comp as enjoyed at previous events. Those that have attended past events know that the speed course opens after lunch when the tides are low and the banks exposed. to take advantage of the pre lunch high tides we will now be setting a triangle course for mixed class course racing.

So, those competitors wanting to enjoy both course racing and speed sailing will be able to do so without any clashes in program.

Additionally, We have included a longboard category within the GPS classes.

When you enter the event this year you have the choice to compete in both course racing and speed sailing and will be fully eligible for all prizes in any category you compete in.

happy days
Justin.

cheers da vecta.

We're working pretty hard at making it AWESOME!

small steps though. each year we have a post event analysis with the Windfest Committee and talk with event sponsors who all attend and also with competitors and look at what could be better and ways to improve things further. there has been a long term plan in action and we are a few years into that now with lots more to be done.
