Hi Legends!

Looking to have some lessons.. Simon from boardcrazy recommended a guy on the southside. However I have lost his card.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Much love..

Mate, look down the Queensland threads a bit and have a read of the RQYS learn to windsurf thread. If you can't get in there, well maybe give Simon another buzz because he used to do lessons, I'm not sure if he still does. Surf Connect at Sandgate do them too. Have a bit of a Google search and you'll find something for sure.

Thanks guys..

Looks like I'll be having some lessons with Darren at Sandstone Point.

Jeff, I did mate. Picked up a Go from the seabreeze buynsell, and purchased the rest from Simon at Boardcrazy. Looking forward to finally getting out there with you guys.

Excellent, enjoy your lessons The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron has a few active programs and windsurfing initiatives. They run nationally accredited learn to windsurf courses, you can just get in touch with reception to register and find the next course dates or check out the website. The level two better windsurfing course is aimed to open next season but level one courses (five sessions) are being run currently. The club also has Saturday Team Windsurfing sessions and a developing green fleet to learn and improve upon racing skills.

Had my first lesson with Darren down at Sandstone Point today. Absolutely loved it and I have a feeling I am well and truly hooked.

If anyone else is looking for an instructor, I can't recommend Darren enough. Darrens passion for the sport is incredibly and he is a natural teacher. And no word of a lie, he could easily charge five to six times what he does.

I'm absolutely rooted. Time for bed.

Good stuff MrKN, Darren is the man for the Bribie area. If you get hooked like Adam and I did, try to sail as much as you possibly can for the first 6 months and you'll surprise yourself with just how quickly you'll progress as opposed to people who are learning and can only sail once a fortnight or less.

I don't know where you're located and whether you've got somewhere closer to home to sail and practice, but you'll nearly always have one of us to sail with at Sandstone in southerlies if there's enough wind and water or Turner's Camp at all tides in northerlies
