Fabulous conditions at Lake Weyba yesterday afternoon, my first sail there.
I had found the forum posts from 11th May 2011 recommending this venue, and I was suitably impressed.
Only problem was that it was near to 20 knots SE and my smallest sail was a 7.2 metre!
Some very fast runs but also heaps of practice with the waterstarts!
Met the only other windsurfer there- (? Jonesy)- hope to catch up again soon.
Otherwise we were greatly outnumbered by the kitesurfers but when you have such a massive space to sail who cares??
Hi Kirgo
Good to see you there yesterday. The wind was very light and then it came just nice (for me) but as you say, it kept coming and was quite choppy.
I have been there a few times and have enjoyed it. Plenty of room and it is a bit flatter than Cootharaba in an equal wind.
There was a guy (windsurfer) who came out today on his bike for a look and lives in the area. Has never sailed there but asked about the conditions and seemed impressed. Maybe you will see more people there in future.
