Just looking into spending a week up the sunshine coast. Never really wave sailed only just the swell out the back of manly and wello. I have a 5m combat and 100L and 89L jp wave board the rest of my gear is slalom. Is it worth bringing up such small gear up in about a months time?

Should i just bring up slalom gear? What are the avg. conditions like?

I'd take the 100l... depends if your a big guy or not. I'm super light so. Maybe a 5.5 with the 100l, but 5 could do in wave. You don't need a ton of wind when catching the swell and learning in small surf. :)

just keep eye on tides

Im 70kg, but usually am used to, 'the bigger sail, the better motto' for flat water slalom so it will be a strange feeling. With a 5m what is the bottom wind you would go out in?

and check tides? What are the best conditions?

If you are 70kg and was using the 100ltr and 5m I would imagine that you would be fine in anything from 12-20knots. The board might start to get a bit big for you after 20knots.... Ideal time to put a bit more downhaul on and move down to the 89ltr!

But conditions so far this season have been well below average...... quite depressing actually.....

looking at getting a 5.8 force wave sail to match the 100L and 89L board better as 5m combat i feel never has any power. Better match for SEQ conditions?
