I found the reading pretty good. Neally always correct excepting true south. Then drop a few knots. Pm your Email Ian and I'll send that stat record we talked about.
i can only go off my own experience. yes if you sail out 500+ metres it's pumping but i find closer to the beach the wind is lighter than the graphs as it lifts up over the hill/cliff that runs along the eastern side.

You should already have "Latest Weather Observations for Redcliffe" in your favorites if that's where you sail www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ60801/IDQ60801.95591.shtml 5th line down "See also: Recent months at Redcliffe"
