Pretty safe to say Qld cleaned up! 'State of Origin' wasn't calculated but Qld for sure would have won!

1st Slalom , Sean Obrien ,3rd Vando, Masters Slalom Dave Sandos, 2nd FR Vando, Masters FR and Slalom Dave Sandos, FR Women Kellie T, I may have that not quite right, but was something like this, also heaps of Qld finished high in the results of both Divisions.
Check the
final results on the GI website for full details.
Last day provided a perfect photo day, amazing shots about to post a few on
Freerace Qld FB site.
Big pack up of a lot of gear, followed by a big night!, everyone that attends a GI ends up meeting heaps of people from all over Australia, you get to sail with some amazing sailors, Pro's, and this year Former world champ Jessica Crisp.
The racing is of the highest standard the top guys are at whole other level, you get to see some amazing freestyle action too!

For what ever reason those that attend GI are all super nice people, there are no ego's, whilst the competition is fierce on the water, everyone looks out for each other and off the water everyone pitches in and is super friendly, you all arrive as strangers but leave as friends.
It was a physically tough week, not just the mega winds being tough in the 'off season' , heaps of sore body's at the end of the week, a week on the reef takes it toll on your body also through coral cuts, abrasions etc, most people will be off the water for a week to let the wounds heal!

It's a big effort to get there with all your gear (which has to be super minimal) there's not trailers full of a gear to chose from, most people just had to make do with what ever they had, mostly over powered, then on the last day, many underpowered!
Aside from the racing side of things, if you wanted a nice warm windy, winter windsurfing escape, put Green Island on your list!
