In order to celebrate our wonderful city I propose to drench channel patterns on our Gold Coast Broad Waters in the shape of our National Flag . Motivation could be : celebration of ANZAC day, Labor day, etc any important occasion that comes to our minds.

This inexpensive works involve just sucking a bit of sand to the depth of 50 cm / low tide and putting aside to create small sand banks. Channels needs to be only 10 to 20 meters wide.

Here is my CAD project:

Additional benefit could be speeding up water circulation that improve water quality and marine life at this area.
Greens should be happy !

Only drawback I could see is that existing water sings restricting speed to 40 knots become inadequate and I do suggest to increase limits to 60 knots. Obviously traffic in the channels is allowed only to wind powered watercrafts like Wind and Kite Surf Boarders.

maybe they should be plough fins ,less drag maybe ,
and we would be building the bank at the same time.
shouldnt take that long

Ha mate id be happy for a 300m un-interupted run :-) maybe we could add a cafe into the mix where you could tie up you gear and grab a cold drink or a coffee when the wind drops. Watch the cruise liners come and go
