Freerace Tactics
Sorry about the quality of the image, bit it's some food for thought on how to attack 1Hr of power to get your best result.
The below image shows top 4 results, whilst the overlay doesn't really show how far apart in distance to each other all these guys were they were in fact miles apart, all chasing what they thought was the best wind on the lake.
Clearly Dave managed longer runs with his position, probably less gybes, when you look at say Jonesy's track, yet the differences were slight, so was it in fact windier down that end of the lake?!
The track that is missing is Peter D's! In fact Peter was missing for a brief moment....must have had something to do with breaking a mast on the far side of the lake ! What a Bugger! What resulted though was a 'text book perfect' emergency out at sea de rig, followed by a long slow perfect tow back to shore, I think by Kiwi Mike was it? Legendary effort!
Special mention also to the Gold Coast crew that came up for the event also, big thanks.
Its an all time epic wind forecast this weekend...Bump and Jump free sailing at Mooloolaba Friday Night,

maybe some more wind BOTH directions on Saturday, then a big blow Sunday.

Lets get a big crew up there on Sunday and show visiting UK Guru/Pro Simon Bornhoft, how its done in Queensland! We may even tempt him to join in!
