Is the fin hollow? Surely that should not have split like that.

Doesn't appear to be hollow, but a bunch of layups of different carbons. These fins are designed for a specific performance, not durability. We're not sposed to hit anything with them.

Done that a few times but mainly on Turtles .

Hope u made sure that Ray was not injured Bludger. He might put in a liability claim against you :-)

Try the Tribal fins G10.
Board Crazy has some sizes in stock .
sometimes if sailing upwind at Wynnum I use a weedspeed Tribal for the fact that there are so many turtles and stingrays in that area.
Have hit a turtle at full speed with G10 Tribal weedspeed and slightly damaged fin without stacking.

Thanks Cocky. I had a look at what Tribal has to offer, but I'm not prepared to deviate from the old school/conventional/traditional style of fin.
At the moment my no. 1 pick is Tectonics Raptor, and second choice would be the Vector Canefire, but the latter won't be as good in choppier water. I have that one already in 44cm.
