For those wondering how the development at Elanda Point is progressing here are a few photos of where things are at.

In addition to the pictures below, there are about 15 powered camping / caravan sites behind and beside the old toilet block (which still exists unchanged).

Unpowered camping along the waterfront remains unchanged.

There has been a slight fee increase, I'm not exactly sure on the breakdown of that. I just know it's an extra $6/night for our family.

Just had a look at their website, $290 for 2 people per night for a glamper with ensuite. Hmmm.

I'm impressed, an overhaul at Elanda was long overdue just to keep them viable and operating. I will still be staying unpowered in a van, but giving the market a "glamping" option is great.

Its looking good, Is camping still allowed in the area along the edge of the paper bark forest looking out towards the water and hire canoes etc.
And do they have a caretaker onsite overnight to keep the flodders quiet

Was some camping there at Easter Lungs, but I think it won't be there eventually.
powered sites are only up near the yellow toilets so far.
Was pretty wet, but not too bad.
I was told there were security guys the night before we were there, but did not see them myself. Not aware of anyone onsite overnight. But everyone was quite well behaved around us.
Was a bit worried about the changes,but pleasently surprised so far. I am wondering what effect the bistro might have.

Another issue which annoyed us at xmas time (only there for a couple of days) was that a lot of people wanted to drive to and from their camp site to the showers, toilets, to temporary kitchen etc, (lazy ****s) and the speed most of them were travelling.
The big draw card for us is that kids can ride/roam free without the worry of cars continually driving around. We did notice not as many little ones out n about on bikes.
Just wandering if they are clamping down on this again.

You can also get these set up locally now, pretty fancy! Also not a cheap date, these were at Boreen Point camp site

..if you 'accidentally ' packed a board and it 'just happened' to be 20knt forecast , well what would be the chances ? !

I have heard that the new owners plan to put a 70m pontoon on the lake. They had planed a 100m pontoon but the locals protested.

Yep, a jetty has been part of the development right from the start. There were some regulatory issues they had to get around I believe. It all makes sense for what they want to do with the place which is make it the main stepping off point for tourists going up into the everglades so their boats don't have to go further downstream.

JonesySail, I don't think you want to sell the Mrs, but if you do; a romantic luxury glamping weekend with catering would definitely be the way to go.

The good news is that yes, you can still camp in all the same spots for unpowered. There isn't an on site overnight caretaker.
