Looking across from sandstone it looked like surf's up

Even from a distance you looked to be crankin!!

I took the soft option and went to sandstone for the flat water

Cheers Jeff

Ps will see what tomorrow brings

Went off on Saturday. This morning was a bit more tamed at Pebble beach / Sandstone. Great to have two day's sailing.
Got to try my new Simmer 2XC 8.5 meter. Loads of low down grunt and great light handling. Can't wait to try my new SCR sails. Rigged one, and it look's beautiful.
Would love to here what anyone thinks about them.

Had Saturday at sandstone and by the time tide was out so was I, great session though, shared the beach with some kites who don't have to worry about details like tide!
Jeff was flying on the techno with back foot in the strap- very necessary- the guys over at Bongaree -Pete, Darren were sailing long fast runs out to the bay
Today was marginal planing at sandstone but it's real flat water, both days and it suits a decrepid old bugger like me. Pat, Darren & I making the most of the weekending and admiring Darren's flash new sails.

how come nobody has a camera on the really big days?

Haha!!! I always think the same thing. It's because we're all having too much fun, and don't want to waste any valuable time.
Mate you'll love Bongaree too. Like I said - it's flat water for miles once over the Passage. Great big playground.
See you there next time, and we might even convince Jeff and the others.

Where do you rig at Bongaree? If the stars align, the wind comes and leave approved..... Saturday!

Just follow the water south and turn right after jetty and follow the water to the end where there's a small car park.
Saturday is looking good but I don't know if I can make that one yet. Hope to see you there some time, if not Saturday.

Make sure your its an outgoing tide with wind from the south or else go to the other side of the island.

Nah, it's no problem staying upwind against the tide on a windsurfer. Once over the other side it's hardly a problem anyway. Many people may prefer to have an incoming tide for safety too.

I was referring to the pressure waves from current into wind in the channel. That's the only reason I sail at the wreck as you can run off the wind and hit the swells at top speed. Also more apparent wind especially if you get a fast flowing tide.
