Hi,
I'm getting back into windsurfing after 20 years, live in Cooroibah so looking at starting in Cootharaba until I get my sea legs back (if they still exist). I was looking for someone who might have a used waist harness for sale and also need a mast base (US). Any help would be appreciated. Any reason no one sails at Cooroibah? Is it too shallow? too gusty? All of the above?
Thanks and hope to see you out there soon.
Cheers.

I'm also back after a 25 year hiatus, good crew at lake weyba had my 6th session there today was off the chain, good spot to get your head back around the game, still got a ways to go yet for me. its safe and shallow , and plenty of other crew sail here too, along with kite learners also.

Hi all,
Thank you for your tips, I went to SCBoardsports yesterday and got a Harness and base. Ready to hit the water now. Frothing!

There must be a revival going on. I've been out of the sport for 25 years too. Bought an old board just to see if I could still do it and enjoy it. The boom snapped after 3 outings so now I have a shiny new one. Sailed at Boreen Point and Victoria Point. Both nice and shallow so can get everything sorted by standing up without the need to flounder around in deep water, both places also great for practicing water starts.
Was getting arm pump the first few times but the new boom (Severne metal) is thinner and no arm pump, awesome.

Rod, there's a SSE change forecast for Saturday after lunch, probably be about 1/2 doz of regular crew at Lake Weyba. It works better in SSE than Lake Cootharaba, if you haven't been there before go down Eumarella Road, turn left and go about 150 mtrs to rigging area.
