I just wanted to post a thank you to the gentleman that brought me out a UJ out the back of Botany Bay last night.
My UJ snapped first run out and after 20mins or so of trying to paddle in I was kindly bought one so I could get back to land.
Thank you. I owe you a few beers! (and Remi for lending the UJ)
I check my gear regularly but it was the plastic that failed not the joint itself so I didn't spot it.
Once again windsurfers proving they are a lovely bunch.
Keep an an eye on each other out there.

Once it happened to me I was able to get back keeping the loose base of the mast on the deck. Got a few dents though

Hi Ed, which plastic part failed? I replace my tendons every year so am interested in what other parts are easily susceptible to failure.

It was the piece underneath the tendon where the metal pin connects to the base. The plastic around the metal cracked therefore there was no rope or anything to hold it together. I think I will he swapping mine on a more regular basis now.
