Thought I'd share a video I took of a couple of nautical miles at Primbee. The wind was up and down between 5 and 25 knts West/North West. It was a short but fun session and my 4th time out on the slalom board. I was trying to focus on my body position (straight front leg), but it was pretty choppy and you can see one spinout where I had to unhook to pull the tail back in. Hope you enjoy and the selfie doesn't get too many red thumbs... thought people might be interested to see what Primbee has to offer.

ha, please dont take seabreeze forums serious
they lost all cred yrs ago

your monstering the sail, absorbing to much of the feed from it with your way to bent arms

the feed should be absorbed with straighter arms and feed down to the board with leg pressure

a straight front leg aint anything, its just suggestting that if its straight your looking to feed all down the back leg for increased lift, the front leg needs to bent to take some of that feed from sail for better acceleration and trim

you need longer lines to help create a better stance

your doing real well, showing great spirit
you'll be the king before you know it
good luck

I would add to Johnny's excellent breakdown, that your boom also looks a too low for your height......it is at the bottom of the boom cutout which is good for Froddo but you look taller than him. Aim for the chin height when sailing, then drop it down a little when overpowered. Add on the extra length in harness lines and lean out and keep the sail upright and you will improve your control, leverage and speed. Your gybes are coming along really well. You are leaning forward nicely through the arc which is the big thing, but make sure your have your arms extended to keep the sail away from your body, this also keeps more weight fwd, more rail engaged and allows the sail to flip/rotate easier, and because it is away from your body, it is less likely to knock your balance around. Hope this helps in some way.

Thanks again for the feedback guys... maybe I need to find some lines that are longer than 30". If I put the boom any higher I seem to struggle to get out of them if a lull hits. I'll look around for some 34s??

Nice Video Nigel. I will be spending a lot more time on the water down south from about September onwards, so look forward to having a few sails with you both in Sydney and down south.
