Nice to see someone actually sailing there in a SWer. When I lived down there I pretty much sailed alone every time the wind turned SW. I always wondered if there was a better place somewhere else that I didn't know about. Added bonus is that in a SWer you can rig on the grassy area near the river mouth and then launch right from there.
There were perfect waves way out on the Long Reef bommie, unfortunately the wind refused to swing to the SWest, and was rarely even at WSWest. The shore dump up towards the 'pole' ate my mast after only one ride. So I'm in the market for a 430 SDM that has a bend curve suitable for a North (12 years young) Vortex wavesail; all '2 good 2 B true' and free offers considered.
