Not sure if this easterly will actually happen but does the Lagoon get breeze from this direction?

In theory if it was more ENE & strong. E prob no good.

I didn't look earlier this year when we got that easterly hurricane, I sailed at Balmoral when the surf was breaking and then
later launched from Clontarf which would be rubbish but it was so strong (over 100 km/h gusts) that the wind was twisting
in. It was too gusty though, I fatigued quickly, had a 4.5, a 3.3 would have been ok.

I went out yesterday around lunch as it was starting to look promising but the breeze died off before it was strong enough. What did come through seemed reasonably consistent so would be happy to try it again next easterly, when every that may be...

NE is Okay at the lake, but really Botany Bay is just unreal in a NE. I say that hating the parking and rigging and airport and docks and water pollution and all.

The bay really picks the wind up just perfectly, off the huge, flat expanse of the airport. I find it much better south of the swimming nets, bump and jump.

The bay needs wind against tide, so an incoming tide in a NE.

Obviously tide doesn't matter for the lake. I've found it doesn't pick the wind up nearly as good, it's super gusty, muddy, yucky, can't see the depth. Am I correct in hearing people have broken necks at the lake, in the distant past?

...yeah, nah I don't like the lake. I say that dreaming of owning a windsurfer there as a kid, it's closest spot for me, so I am as biased as I can be toward it.

Saw Al Gleeson almost break his neck on a sandbar during a filthy westerly many moons ago.
