Anyone still wavesailing around Ballina? Heading up there on the weekend for a week and Saturdays forecast is northerly , does flat rock south side work in that direction?
cheers.

Hey haven't sailed south side in notherly wind, have surfed on northerly swell though (south side) not sure if you could sail as it breaks quite close and may not be the right angle? have a crack and let us know

I would as default go to the pass and sail middle reef - onshore but fun or Lennox beach

Hey Ma,
yes south side of Flat Rock is great in a northerly, one of my faves. It's just a bit of a trek down from the tent park but not too bad. Also, be careful of a rocky outcrop near the beach, about 100m down south from flat rock. I haven't been there for a while so don't know if it is covered by sand or not.

I'm heading down to the Woopi Classic myself, although it looks like it is going to be much windier up Byron/Ballina way. You could also go to the Pass as suggested but the swell is side on so not much wave riding.
