What about the point at Chittaway bay? More for a Southerly though looking at it. Never sailed there but the spit extends out into Tuggerah lake a fair way...

The section you have highlighted is too covered by the trees on the island.
In a westerly rig and launch near the boat ramp on the point and run down towards the island.
I have not sailed there since i was a coastie in the late 90's but be prepared to get muddy and weedy. I sussed it out last year when I had to spend a few months working over that side of the country and it still looks sailable and will be flatter than Canton

Dunno for sure but I would imagine any easterly wind would be quite gusty with all the obstacles in the way. From my experience its pretty hard to sail in narrow channels as the wind angle is makes a reach very short.

Perhaps a better speed run on a NE wind would be in the main lake where the wind is reasonably consistent and the water not too choppy. However the question has to be whether it would be any better than Narrabeen Lake.

I have sailed the main lake and that is good the only reason i asked was the locals were raving about it!

in a NE i'll go Botany or the other side of canton is good too

the lake !!! dont get me started !! i found this the other day CLASIC DAY on speed board shoot across and swim back ... drive home !!

Sailed there a coupla years ago in easterly.

Launched from caravan park.
That channel is a no go.
Narrow, in wind shadow, muddy

Perhaps the locals were referring to the other side of the Entrance There is a park there. I've seen kiters there. There are heaps of sand/mudbars around there so perhaps there could be a speed run there.
