Hey guys,
I'm up in Brissie on the way to Fraser Island for a few weeks for a family holiday. Thought I might keep an eye out for some of these Famous Sailing Spots in my travels. Haven't bought any gear but hoping to give the local fish a bit of a hiding. Seems a bit warmer than Geelong and the water is blueish colour...Hmmmm might not go home...
Where' the local hotspot? Heading up towards Maroochydore tomorrow night maybe...
cheers Tony Wynhoven (the only warm connewarre cremaster)

Wellington Point, good for sailing not so much for fishing. Then alot of the other spots are sailed to- lota creek is directly west of wello, you can walk out to the creek but it's muddy.

From wello look north west and you can see manly (just north of the boat harbour), is the other main brissie sailing spot nothing magical in way of speed there though.

Victoria point is about 15min south of wello, a mudbank to south of the point or at high tide sailing near the beach over about 1m deep water so it keeps the chop down.

On your way up coast there is golden beach at caloundra, follow the signs there- fishing not too bad around there.

Burrum Heads you probably wont see, it is at northern end of the bay inside Fraser so another 2 hours on from maroochydore.

A few of us should be around tomorrow (we dont have real jobs ), send a pm if you want to catch up.

Hey Tony, good to see your getting away from Geelong.

Next time you will have to come a bit further and have a sail at Green Island.
