The days are just too short!
In the summer, it would still be light enough to sail, right now, 9pm friday evening, when it is blowing 30-40 knots and the tide is low. :-(
Have you ever noticed how in winter the best wind always seems to arrive just after dark. Or if you leave right after work you just can't quite make it to the Pit until just after the sun sets when the tide and wind are perfect?
Today was one of those days...........

There is just a hint that there might be some wind next WE, but anything can happen before then. Low tide is at around 11.45am and it looks like a huge high in the arvo so it will be all over by early arvo anyhow. winter is cruel. [}:)]

Good on you Choco, you planning a trip will kill the wind for the pit crew and give the rest of us a chance.

In your picture what is the patch in the red rectangle?
Like to get down there this spring/summer.

Hadn't noticed that patch.
It may well be ice as one of the locals said it had been iced during the week. We thought it had all thawed.
That area is also right about where you get the best speeds after you've come down the far bank from left of the pic, very flat in there by the island.
Need much warmer temps for that sort of stuff though.
We were up there for our annual mid winter christmas party.
Yes, you should visit the lake, its not perfect, but it is windy.
