You've got to wonder about the things bios glue on streamlined creatures? Do they have any idea? An elephant seal is a masterpiece of streamlining. If you glued that thing to the bottom of your board do you think you'd notice? Of course you would, you wouldn't even bother going out.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant_seal

"
Elephant seals spend upwards of 80% of their lives in the ocean. They can hold their breath for more than 100 minutes[10][11] – longer than any other noncetacean mammal. Elephant seals dive to 1,550 m beneath the ocean's surface[10] (the deepest recorded dive of an elephant seal is 2,388 m (7,835 ft) by a southern elephant seal).

"

Imagine how deep it could have gone if it didn't have that glued on its head.

But ironicaly, we'd never know without the tag! It's a bit quantum...

Also 2.5k dive? That's incredible. The pressure at that depth...they must have astounding respiratory systems.

..apparently its with a Great White along with his 2sec, 1Hr, NM, Distance and awesome Alpha 500.

It all happened at the GPSUnderSeaChallenge last year where Sammy was up to his usual antics running rings around his most feared opponents.

... who happened to get upset as the Slippery Seal Crew had a laugh at where he had put his GPS.....

...Time Keepers will be reviewing the onboard GPS overlayed shark video from the incident to help validate Sammy's record Alpha at the time... RIP Sammy
