I tried free MotionX app on iPhone this morning on way to work...doesn't seem very accurate! Here's a trace of Manly to Circular Quay (on ferry). So think the GT31 is the way to go.

I got the HD Helmet hero when they first came out for $330, delivered to my door. Buying direct from gopro.

And if you are worried about customer service. I found a crack in the hinge after about a month of use. Sent them an email with a picture attached, and a new case arrived in the mail a week later. Doesn't get any better then that.
