Thanks Elmo, it was a great day for all three of us down there. Bean not yet on the books, but hopefully will be tomorrow or Monday
Bean is our new secrete weapon That young gun has been sailing for only two months, cracked over 30 knots, and to top it off, after so much sailing he's doing chop hops on his upwind drive for the next speed run. What a top bloke, and agree with decrepit, so much enthusiasm and energy

PS but he doesn't like any nibblers in the water. had me in fits when I asked him what he was dancing about for

Have a feeling mineral that bean will be a big contender for most improved, and if the challenge keeps going, he's going to get you in the top scores.

Like Hardie said "It's easier to do there"

Still you have to put in that bit extra to push your boundaries

The big fella found a great course

Thought Minna's comments at the end of the day were classic

Did a good run came back and saw 30 on the dial and thought to myself "Bull****" so I went out and did another one

Gotta tell you - the Mandurah hospitality is exceptional - must be the lifestyle / semi-holiday atmosphere there. After my second run I was quite downwind again!!! and stuffed a gybe in the channel (yes I know I am supposed to head well upwind when I hit the channel before gybing back - now well written into my head for the future - some people only learn the hard way ), then was struggling a bit water starting. Anyway a boat came past and asked if I wanted a hand - they dragged me to the waist deep water just downwind of the channel where they were going to do a little crabbing. They were returning from some surfing and wakeboarding on the coast earlier and just winding down for the day. Anyway they offered a beer and I had a pitstop with a great group of young 20 somethings for 30 mins or so. Mandurah really is a great spot. No guesses where my family is going for long weekends from now on.

So for seabreezes, flat water, great WS crew, and a beer on a boat with some great people at a pitstop halfway across the estuary - it just does not get any better.

Nice to meet you bean, (is that for "jumping bean" or have you been reading Orson Scott Card's
"Ender" series). Nice to hear you share our aversion to the crabs, one got me thru my booties yesterday.

Yes you sure are, and as far as I know you've yet to lead a "toon".

(nice to know another fan, have you read the "Alvin" series, think they're my favourite.)

The amount your good wife was doing trying to attract your attention while you sailed on by a few times, I am surprised you made it into the new day
