fangman said.. decrepit said.. fangman said.. I didn't put the marker in so I am not sure how well anchored it is - longer and bigger tubing increases the loading from wind and waves, so sometimes they just fall over. If I get to it first I will check it out.
Fangy, I supplied the piece of pipe and I think it was about 1.5m long, I have an idea that Fin/Wazza bashed it in fairly deep, there idea was always to slide a longer piece of pipe inside it. But then I think I upset their plans by saying the inner alpha marker should be shifted further upwind out of the general flight path.
So My feeling is, pull it out if possible and we'll put some new markers in further out.
OK Decrep I will see what transpires. I think I remember Wazzapoledancer saying something about using his head when he put it in, so its probably whacked in pretty firmly..
WazzaGoneTroppo here.... Capt'n, you are right as usual. We were talking about repositioning the markers at a later date...that will now be late 2016!
My statement to the Coroners Court would read :
Braving the swarms of dinner- plate sized blue swimmers Fin and I did indeed set up the alpha markers early in the season. Whilst it was Fin who placed the marker in question it was only short becoz' the pole was short in the first place and not becoz he was violent. We couldn't find any old bits of wokker pole to use as an extension but it certainly wasn't under water when he had finished his task but it is quite possible that we forgot the state of the tide. Fin quite rightly decided that a 400m walk back to shore to get the Mandurah Tide Tables and Other Assorted Planetary Predictions, back out to the marker and then back in again just wasn't on and I do have a vague recollection that we wondered if it might be better if it was a tad higher. Actually, I wondered that all season and, in fact, am certainly still wondering that as I write. My excuse is that when Fangy placed a steering wheel, complete with horn and indicators (WhiskyTangoFoxtrot?) on the upwind alpha gate I just assumed that he was using random car parts as extensions and would eventually do all of them for end of of year "Fangland Car Wreck Challenge". A normal person would. Bloody students.
Your witness, m'lud.
