Some new times

* Dan was wearing 3 gps' !! and got 3 different values. One foretrex had 40.3 ,one Navi 40.35 2nd Navi 40.66 He posted the average of the Navis on gps-ss , I put the more conservative value here.

These are display speeds NOT 2 second speeds

** Mandurah covers several locations ~100km south of Perth

Yoyo, thanks for that, interesting.
not sure about the display reading, but Hardie has a 2sec 37.097 posted on the challenge site for 1/7/07

And Elmo has 38.943 for the 29/8/07

Yep, I know Mike. But these are display speeds not software and Elmo said his display was 37.0 on the day he got a software 2 sec of 38.9.

I deliberately did this as the Foretrex display (doplar) is the true speed while the 2.4m grid effect can give users an extra 1-1.5kn of imaginary speed on the 2 second setting.

As the use of the Navi becomes more extensive I may change over to 2 sec but for now, whilst there are many still using the Garmins, I will keep it as it is.

# I've updated the display speeds for Joseph and yourself.

If anybody else out there is feeling left out or misrepresented message me. Just remember this table is for speeds in WA only and need one other person to verify.

OK understood, trouble is I've made no records of display reading.

But since I updated the firmware, I think I can access the doplar figures, they seem very similar to the display readout. Are you interested in them???

Hardie , your 37.6 display speed done today (14.09.2007) is noted. Can't change the current table as the 24hr edit period is up. It doesn't change your position. But once summer kicks in I think I will need to keep it more current.
