OK due to popular demand, pm's and phonecalls to hold it on another date, the event has been rescheduled and lets hope the wind gods co-operate on the weekend of 13/14 Feb.

WE will also have the GTC Trophy and medal presentations.

Awesome, looking forward to the weekend.

I have a perfect boat (5m RIB) that can be at your disposal for the day, I will bring it along on the day, be warned though that it may require a skiper and there maybe a few kids wanting to join in on the action

Cheers.

Sounds great.

Maybe the WA SURF Mandurah Marathon should be a sort of (no pun intended) "floating" event held whenever the wind is available and there are no other scheduled events ?

If its first possible date is 1 week after the LOC one of the two should get wind

Yes, probably

until you look over your shoulder and trip up a rail, then I'll pass triumphantly (Steven Bradbury style)

Obviously people like us (of a "certain" age) dont care about Valentines Day but I thought it might be an issue for some of the youngsters.

And anyway we all know what our true love is ! I think I'm safe saying that, the wife doesnt frequent the forums

Count me in, wind permitting, for either day !

And remember the old story if we dont go on Saturday thinking Sunday will be windy you know what will happen.

Is Saturday a problem for anyone / many people due to work or other comittments ?

I think most partners of windsurfers know that if the wind is up everything else comes second.
One of my friends is marrying a windsurfer in May. She said to me "I hope it's not windy that day or my husband will be late..."

This is another type of race which may be of interest down the track a 1 hour time trial.

It'll be murder on us muppets though with all the gybing

Just a reminder, forecast at this stage looking good but too early to call, if no wind we'll still have presentations of GTC Trophy and Medals, andc maybe a swap meet if no wind?

Crasher and I have added an extra marker post on the outside of the rock garden, and as a reminder for anybody coming down for a sail, here's roughly what the posts look like now.

There's another couple of posts I haven't shown here, one out from the launch spot immediately east of the boat ramp, and another a bit more further east

Crasher also took some pics, Alby says he's going to load them onto utube

Ohhh...that would be just beautiful. You could both just sail in on separate boards, and then leave together on the tandem. I couldn't think of anything more romantic.

Perhaps even some flowers along the booms would be a nice touch

What time are things likely to kick off?

On the assumption it will be Saturday, rather than Sunday, I probably can't get there until about 2pm (but don't let that stop you).

Is it presentation, then race, then err...race presentation?

What other fun things have you got planned?

I fancy belting out a one-hour sesh afterwards, and I'm sure I won't be the only one (that's if I can even get my foot in a footstrap by then, but that's another story )

This is not formal but at this stage:

Race registrations 12pm
Presentations 1pm
Race Debrief 2pm
Race 3pm
on the day and given the conditions anythings possible

Dont you have a debrief after the race??

So at 2pm we would have a briefing

We have to be de-briefed for this race?

What if I wear a waist harness?

OK, so if I am late maybe someone will briefly brief me on the debriefing?

So many questions...
