No PB is worth a life as a quadraplegic or no life at all. In WA in search of flat water and new PBs, sailors are now sailing in very shallow water which has recently been exacerbated by extreme low tides. Do not sail at speed in water if you are not certain there is sufficient clearance for your fin or if there is a possibility of hitting projections (rocks etc).
I think there was some doubt about the peak speed (41) I had at melville that day. With only 1 gps and some pretty high deceleration values dave felt it best to leave it off the table. It's still on gpstc as the run data strongly supports the "feel" of the run in speed and accel terms- the fast section of the run felt like the 40 had at mandurah last summer, and the high deceleration coresponds to a signifigant loss of board trim and power.
A number of us had a look at Tims track. There was a change of sats at the peak speed and very high deceleration in the middle of the run (40 to 31 in a couple of seconds). It looked like a track smoothed spike to me (and some others thought the same). It was similar to what happened periodically with the Garmin fortrex when it changed sats.

Congratulations on the new PB Baldy. Yep I know it is only 0.04 knot and probably less than the margin of error but hey, a PBs a PB. Well done
