The weather bureau is warning that approaching storms could be the most significant weather event in Victoria for the past 15 years.

looks like the wind hitting just before the peak of high tide... but that doesnt stop some crazy people . Unfortunately I cant play this time

PS: the BOM are pretty good with their armageddon forecasting. They just want to give something to the media to create some drama and be noticed. "Hey we're the BOM! We're really important!!! So notice us! And be scared. Because. "

Translation: BOM: "Possible Hurricane strength winds from the N, S, E and West at times, with periods of rain, heavy at times, with the chance of damaging squalls, hail and thunderstorms"

=

A couple of light showers and 8-15kts wind.

Chris, are you sure you don't want to change your mind?

It looks like it might be a doozy! I'm sure you could milk 50 out of this!

The raw wind looks like it will be there, but the tides will be a big challenge. High tide is at about 9am. With a big low pressure system the tide will probably be very high which means we may not be able to sail until a couple of hours after high. If the wind is still around by then, look out!

Let the young bulls sprint around with no bank in 40kts till they're rooted...
then the old bulls can have a play in 35 on the low tide...

Ahh, it will probably slip into the night hours or it will be a super high tide or the inlet will be full of weed or.......... Ah don't mind me, I am still disappointed about yesterday which looked like it would be epic too, but the tide wrecked it. It was good fun for sure, but just not what we had hoped for.

Love the mobility in the charts (ecmwf) for you guys, a constant flow of high pressure and low pressure cells tracking west to east. reminds me of the good ol' days over here, with low after low streaming in off the atlantic towards Scotland.

Hope all the right boxes are ticked for your next blow,

It is also a bit of a moving feast. 2 hours after I posted the prediction image of 44-45 knot winds on Monday Windguru had changed its mind to predicting only 15 knots for Monday. Now 12 hrs later it is back up to 33 knots. So I guess we can say it will be somewhere between 15 and 45 knots

So much for Tuesday ...so much for forecasts!

Having said that , if Wed arvo and Thursday deliver what the bureau is predicting it should be pretty special.
