Fredstyles said...Hi,
my name is Andy. Im a german windsurfer and hobby shaper and I would like to start building my first speedboard as soon as possible.
Since there is no sailboard building community and only a very small number of speedsailors in Germany I still couldnt even get a sneak peek at a real speedboard.

I really like the outline and the volume distribution of the CA speedboards and I prefer a clean flat V bottom. But thats not enough making a board.
Maybe you can help me with the following questions regarding the scoop-rocker-line.
1. Length of the planing straight?
2. Tailkick? If yes, where does it start and how much?
3. Amount of Vee?
a) at the bow/entry?
b) under mastbox?
c)under footstraps?
d) at the tail ?
Any help is welcome.
TIA
Andy
hi andy
it all depends on the conditions your sailing? if your sailing flat water you can go flatter, finbox back & footstrapps back& out on the rails
but if your sailing chop you will need a slight V (5mm)from nose to tail, then 1mm taillift from the tail to the middle of the front strap & back strap, then 0mm at 1200 from start of tail lift,=4mm at 1200 then depending on the conditions your sailing but i wouldnt go any more than 175mm at the nose
1. Length of the planing straight? = 0mm at 1200 from start of tail lift or 4mm from tail
2. Tailkick? If yes, where does it start and how much? = 1mm about the middle and back strapps
3. Amount of Vee? =5m " if sailing chop you will need more vee from nose to front strapp"
a) at the bow/entry? =no more than 175mm
b) under mastbox? =4mm
c)under footstraps? =0mm
d) at the tail ?=1mm
i'm working on a duel rocker at the nose(thats flat with a V at the rails till the front strapp) and moveing the fin forward to keep the nose down in high winds, and strapps inward for heavy chopp
i'm sure there will be a few possitive and negative reply's to this post and everyone is welcome

these mesurements are for a slalom speed not speed
" i made a board to these measurements " and i own a CA55, and in a straite line it will kick its ass, as for the wide boards like the isonic's
