It'd never happen but imagine building something like that on the Peel estuary covering winter storms and the summer seabreezes

Out of interest how long is the West Kirby strip (too lazy to go on Google Earth)?

Also would sailing higher than the beach* and wall (compress & therefore) increase windspeed around the optimum zone of the sail?

*the word "beach" used figuratively in this instance

Start building Hardie, one rock at a time, slowly slowly and no-one will notice, then one day there it is, "Hardie's Speed Run".

It's doable (is that really a word?) a big pile of rocks & a dinghy, it's possible
Once it's there how can they get rid of it?

i think we just need someone with a bulldozer to modify hardies, could solve some of the problems of random limestone through the run too

check with Elmo, he seems to located most of the rocks.
Now all you need to do is start collecting them.

We need Mineral to come down with one of his tonka toys, they are all quite firmly attached to all the rest of the limestone in the area

D11r with a set of swamp tracks would sort it out I reckon. One with a coal blade Couple of runs through the area on a low tide day, would sort im out proper.
Will have to get a few beaters in front to scare all the coblers and crabs away so we dont squashem Then again, Elmo would probabaly prefere we squashed a few coblers

This sounds doable. Hardie seems to be in with the local authorities. perhaps we could propose that to make the area safer for all users crabbers and sailers alike we need to clear out all the rocks. Enter mineral and his big tonka truck.

Sausage where the photos and some of the video is taken from is the sand flat of the beach that is there at West Kirby. It's very tidal and obviously that was taken at low tide. Therefore I doubt the different height would make much of a difference as if you came back a few hours later the same photographer would be up to his waist in water and the ocean height would be only a foot or so lower than the lake height. There is the possibility the wind going over the rock wall could accelerate due to compression though I guess...a la an aerofoil type effect, although I thought that would be more approiate if the surface the wind was trevelling over was smooth.
